ASICs (Aviation Security Identification Card)
What is an ASIC?
An ASIC is an identification card used to identify a person who has been subject to a background check which is required to obtain unescorted access to secure areas at aerodromes. They are valid for up to 2 years.
Who needs an ASIC?
A person has an operational need to hold an ASIC for frequent access to security-controlled airports like Moorabbin. A valid card should be displayed when operating in applicable secure areas. If you are new to flight training with us we ask that you apply for an ASIC after completing 3 hours if you intend on conducting flight training with us.
