Course Overview

Moorabbin Aviation Services (MAS), in partnership with Aviation Australia, is proud to deliver the AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane)—a nationally recognised qualification designed to prepare aspiring pilots for professional careers in aviation.

Based at Moorabbin Airport, Melbourne’s primary general aviation training hub, our school provides an ideal environment for pilot training. With five runways, an on-site control tower, and a busy, real-world airspace, students gain valuable experience operating in conditions similar to those found in commercial aviation.

Course Structure

This course is delivered under CASA Part 142 as an integrated training program, combining theoretical and practical elements to prepare graduates for real-world commercial flying. The structured learning environment ensures that students develop the technical skills, decision-making abilities, and situational awareness expected of professional pilots.

Application Process

  1. Complete Expression of Interest Form.
  2. Staff from our Admissions Team will contact you for a discussion. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and for us to assess your potential suitability to undertake the course.
  3. If you are assessed as being potentially suitable, we will arrange an interview with our School Manager/Instructor interview team.
  4. If the interview is successful you will be asked to undertake a Compass (Adapt) pilot aptitude test. Note:
    • This test requires a payment from you of $450 plus GST
    • We will provide full details regarding how to undertake the test at the appropriate time.
  5. If the aptitude test confirms your suitability to undertake a pilot training course, we will book you in for a flight simulator check. This test will take about 30 minutes.
  6. If the flight simulator check is successful, your details and results of your interview and testing will be forwarded to Aviation Australia with a request to continue with the enrolment process and issue an offer to you for the course.

Note

  • Your Enrolment is with Aviation Australia. The decision as to whether to issue an offer to you is solely at the discretion of Aviation Australia
  • Any recommendation made by us to Aviation Australia to offer a place on a course needs to be submitted at least 4 weeks before the course start date. This means that you need to start the above process with us AT LEAST 6 weeks before any course start date.
